As I prepare
to enter the Canonical year of my novitiate with the Sisters of St. Joseph, I find
myself reflecting on where I am on this journey. One of the ways I do my best reflecting is by writing poetry.
Some who know me well have often
encouraged me to share my poetry with the world as it is one of my gifts. So,
as I prepare to move onward, here are some of my reflections in poem form.
Who am I to
be?
One who will
reach out in love;
seeing other’s
worth.
Could it be
that I,
Struggling
though I might be
has much to
give?
Give of self
and heart;
that is what
I am called to,
meeting all
in love.
Moving
onward now;
is what I am
called to do,
resting in
God’s heart.
Gift I am to
be
reaching out
to the neighbor
giving love
and hope.
Knowing I am
called,
I surrender
to my God
all I am to
be.
